Broomfield Real Estate Information
The suburban city of Broomfield serves as a bedroom community for the city of Denver in Colorado. Originally just a small neighborhood in southeastern Boulder County, Broomfield was created in 1961 to create a more efficient municipal operation and consolidate local government in the area. Despite being a city, the area is still very much a small-town neighborhood that is usually quiet during the day when the majority of its residents commute into downtown Denver for work. However, the city of Boulder is also quite close to Broomfield and is another popular work destination. However, a technological boom in the city itself has led to a number of local jobs. In fact, Sun Microsystems, Level 3 Communications, and Corporate Express have grown to be Broomfield?s three largest employers.
Residents enjoy the convenience of local large city resources without being in an urban environment. The Flatiron Crossing Mall is Broomfield?s flagship retail and entertainment complex, headlined by a number of big brands like Nordstrom, Macy's, The Great Indoors and Best Buy. Broomfield?s location between Boulder and Denver has made it a very hectic thoroughfare for commerce that runs between the two large metropolitan areas. Residents of Broomfield also enjoy the proximity of airports. The Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport in the southwestern part of the city, Erie Airport just north of the city, and Denver International Airport are all within an easy drive from the Broomfield city center and offer flights to destinations throughout the mountain region and the United States.
A diverse range of golf courses dot the city landscape as well. The Omni Interlocken Resort Golf Course, Eagle Country Club, The Ranch Country Club, and the Broadlands Country Club are among the most well-known and busy golf links in the area. The large retiree population in Broomfield keeps these courses busy even during weekdays. Rock Creek Farm Park, North Midway Park, Broomfield Community Park, Highland Park, and the Adams County Regional Park are all large recreational facilities designed to keep Broomfield?s residents fit and active. A number of youth leagues draw participants from the city as well as surrounding towns and neighborhoods. A host of national tournaments are also hosted in conjunction with larger leagues in Denver and Boulder.
In addition to the Denver newspapers that are delivered every morning to Broomfield residents, the city has a paper of its own, the Broomfield Enterprise, that includes a lot of local news that is close to home. Because of the great mountain air and comfortable weather for most of the year, the Broomfield community has also invested a lot of its resources in improving the recreational and outdoors experience in the city. Stearns Lake and Josh's Pond, two large lakes on the western edge of Broomfield, are connected by a beautiful trail that weaves its way through the area. However, that is only one path out of an extensive trail system that connects the various lakes and parks that are located throughout the city.
