Cherry Creek Real Estate Information
Just a minute or two from the center of Denver, Cherry Creek and its 5,000 residents live in one of Denver?s more luxurious and elegant suburban communities. Unlike many other planned communities of its size, Cherry Creek mixes many newer residences among some of Denver?s oldest homes. This interesting complexion adds to the character of the neighborhood and makes driving around the area a fun and enjoyable experience. The annual Cherry Creek Arts Festival draws crowds from around Denver, in part due to a large number of art galleries in the town. The Sports Authority- sponsored Cherry Creek Sneak is an annual fun run that weaves its way through the community as a fundraiser for various organizations.
Although Cherry Creek is primarily a residential area, there are two major commercial areas. The first is based around the Cherry Creek Shopping Center where a number of high-end retailers have stores. The shopping center also includes a number of restaurants and even a local brewery. The second shopping district is called Cherry Creek North and is located along East 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Avenues. The sixteen block area features more than 320 upscale boutiques, galleries, entrepreneurial restaurants, and other lifestyle indulgences. Six Flags Elitch Gardens is only a short drive away and is quite affordable.
The very safe, tree-line streets of the neighborhood are quite friendly for bicyclists and joggers who enjoy the quiet roads and paths. For recreationists, Cherry Creek offers its residents a multitude of facilities and exercise areas. Cheesman Park, Washington Park, Pulaski Park, Takayama Park, Takayama Brest Park, Mir Park, 4 Mile House Park, Burns Park, Cranmer Park, and Robinson Park are some of the more popular spots. It?s not uncommon to see a number of picnics and parties held under shady trees in the warmer months. Additionally, many of Cherry Creek?s parks host local youth leagues in a variety of sports like soccer, football, baseball, and softball. The Denver Country Club is also a popular weekend hangout for Cherry Creek?s residents.
The University of Colorado Hospital is located in town and provides most residential health care in Cherry Creek. This is especially convenient because most towns similar in size to Cherry Creek have no immediate care facility in the vicinity.
