One of the most affluent communities in Colorado, the city of Cherry Hills is home to a charming population of almost 6,000 people. A mere twenty minute drive from downtown Denver, the majority of residents commute to work in the urban center and retreat to Cherry Hills in the evenings, effectively making the city a bedroom community supporting Denver. Although the larger city of Englewood is next door to Cherry Hills and is home to a number of commercial interests, many residents find that the local offerings are more than sufficient. However, for those Cherry Hills residents who choose to go elsewhere to shop, the I-25 is a few minutes away.

The Happy Canyon Shopping Center is the area?s primary shopping mall and offers all of the amenities of the much larger malls in Englewood and Denver itself. Built around Blackmer Lake, Cherry Hills is also a very recreation-friendly city because of its many small parks and facilities. The Greenwood Creek and Greenwood Reservoir are joined by a host of other places, including Cherry Hills Park, John Meade Park, Three Pond Park, Hollow Park, Jefferson Square Park, and Magna Carta Park.

Rumor has it that the storied Arnold Palmer iced tea drink originated at the Cherry Hills Country Club. The 18-hole course has seen its share of celebrity golfers throughout the years, including many years as a PGA Tour stop. Glenmoor Country Club is another popular golf course in the Cherry Hills area.

The Cherry Creek Public School District oversees the public education system.
Although the district covers seven county communities, the city of Cherry Hills has almost a dozen elementary schools, three middle schools, and its own high school. The district is known for its superb faculty who are often the recipients of the annual state teacher of the year awards.
