Lakewood Real Estate Information
As the fourth most populated city in Colorado, Lakewood and its population of over
140,000 people enjoy a tight-knit community lifestyle within the Denver-Aurora
metropolitan area. At the base of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, not only is
Lakewood situated in a very picturesque part of the state but it is also quite close to
downtown Denver, where most local residents work during the day. For those residents
who refuse to make the commute, the Denver Federal Center is the area?s largest
employer. Gambro, a medical technology company, is another large company in
Lakewood.
Education is one of the city?s highest priorities, making Lakewood one of the most popular school districts in the Denver area. Recently, Newsweek Magazine ranked
Lakewood High School as the best and most prestigious school in the state. The
campus is the only one to offer an international baccalaureate program in the county.
Colorado Christian University is also located in Lakewood and attracts not only local
residents but students from around the nation.
The Jefferson County Stadium is located in Lakewood and hosts a number of concerts,
matches, games, and ceremonies throughout the year. In addition to performances by
local groups and organizations, there are quite a few big-name artists that perform in the
stadium each year. In the area between Lakewood and Golden, Market Square at
Union and Alameda is a popular shopping area because of its diverse range of shops
and convenient location for Lakewood residents. However, Lakewood City Commons is
the most popular of all malls in the area.
Belmar Park is one of the area?s larger parks and is based around Kountze Lake and Belmar Pond, both of which are in the middle of the park. A number of walking and biking paths weave their way through the area. Other fun recreational areas include Lakewood Park, Glennon Dale Park, Glennon Heights Park, South Simms Park, Green Mountain Village Park, and Little Joe Park. Addenbrooke Park is in the center of Lakewood and one of the most popular community gathering spots. It?s not uncommon to see a number of parties in the evenings and weekends. Just south of Lakewood is the Bear Creek State Park and Bear Creek Golf Course, both of which provide exceptional experiences.
